“To Kids From One to Ninety-two…”
It’s the holiday season!... time to dust off that old FM radio, tune into your local holiday station, and sing along with your favorite, round-the-clock, Christmas classics!
Whether you rock around the Christmas tree with Brenda Lee, jingle bells with the Andrew Sisters, or deck the halls with Nat King Cole, there’s no better way to spend the holidays than with your closes friends and family!
Before the new year comes, and it’s out with the old and in with the new, celebrate the Christmas season with some of your favorite traditions, or even start a new one!
.. FOR HOT COCOA RECIPIES: it’s not a holiday without hot cocoa. Mix it up with a candy cane, or add a splash of peppermint mocha for a seasonal surprise.
.. FOR HOLIDAY PROGRAMMING: grab How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and so many more Christmas cartoons every year, the Hallmark channel features a plethora of heart-warming, holiday films.
.. FOR SNOWBALL FIGHTS: no snow? No problem! Host an indoor snowball fight using cotton balls, or purchase a package of artificial snowballs from your nearest Walmart! The indoor alternative is a safer, and less messy way kicking off the season by pelting each other with balls of snow!
.. FOR HOSTING CHRISTMAS PARTIES: indeed, there’s no better way to enjoy the holidays than with your family and friends. Gather your loved ones, and celebrate the season with an old fashioned cookie swap, secret Santa, or holiday movie marathon!
.. FOR HOLIDAY TUNES:
.. FOR GINGERBREAD HOUSES: in addition to providing a perfect excuse for consuming copious amounts of candy this holiday season, a gingerbread house can also make a tasteful new holiday centerpiece for your dining table; guaranteed to last through the holiday season! Personally, I prefer to decorate the houses that come pre-built. However, if you’re feeling extra jolly this season, and desire more of a challenge, you can try building your own; either way, don’t forget the frosting! Not sure how to decorate your house? Here’s a bit of “pinspiration” to get you started…
.. FOR UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS: I’m not talking about that sweater you bought from Walmart that says, “this is my ugly Christmas sweater,” im talking about a unique, handmade, one-of-a-kind Christmas sweater designed exclusively by YOU! Search your local thrift stores for that big and bulky, hand-knit, button-down your great grandfather would wear, and adorn it with a smattering of Christmas cheer! Invite your friends and family to make their own festive fashions, and then hold a fashion show to judge the winner of “ugliest sweater” design!
.. FOR THE REAL REASON WE CELEBRATE THIS SEASON: (the nativity story)
